How AvioBook builds turnaround insights from operational data with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore
aws ·
AvioBook, a Thales Group company, has developed Connected Analytics to help airlines turn operational turnaround data into usable insights, prototyped on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. Its AvioBook Connect platform, in service since 2018 with a current API platform launched in 2025, organizes each flight into a live flightroom where automated events and crew messages are recorded. The article states that gate delays cost about $20 per minute, and for a mid-size carrier flying 200 flights daily, cutting average turnaround by 2 minutes is worth roughly $240,000 monthly. Connected Analytics is designed for airline managers focused on historical OTP analysis and OCC dispatchers handling live disruption impacts, using two role-specific agents. It supports natural-language questions and agentic delay code validation, returning answers grounded in flight events and flightroom logs with supporting evidence. The architecture uses AgentCore runtime, memory, and Gateway, with JWT authentication, API Gateway, Lambda, Cognito, and MCP tools to query data in Amazon Athena, the Glue Data Catalog, and S3 Parquet files partitioned per airline. AvioBook evaluated orchestration options before a focused one-week co-development with AWS produced a multi-agent proof of concept, giving it confidence to productize Connected Analytics on an extensible foundation.
