How Circle K accelerated DevOps incident triage to under 15 minutes with Amazon Bedrock
aws ·
Circle K successfully reduced its DevOps incident triage time from 45–60 minutes to under 15 minutes by implementing an automated system powered by Amazon Bedrock. The company faced growing operational overhead as its cloud-native infrastructure expanded across more than 17,200 stores in 27 countries. To address this, Circle K developed an agentic AI architecture that autonomously investigates alerts and delivers structured summaries directly to Slack. The initial solution utilized Amazon Bedrock Flows with specialized agents querying AWS resources, OpenSearch logs, and GitHub repositories. As data volumes increased, the team migrated to Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Runtime to support longer sessions and improved observability. This shift allowed for session persistence and framework flexibility while maintaining consistent, actionable insights for on-call engineers. Consequently, Circle K achieved a 67–75 percent reduction in mean triage time, enabling faster escalation and handling of false alarms. The team plans to further integrate the system with AWS DevOps Agent for automated remediations and additional documentation sources.
