How Datacor built self-service rental analytics with Amazon Quick Sight
aws ·
Datacor integrated Amazon Quick Sight into its TrackAbout platform to provide gas and welding distributors with self-service rental analytics, eliminating reliance on IT-generated reports. Previously, customers faced delays in accessing data needed for critical revenue recovery decisions, such as adjusting rental rates or tracking unreturned assets. The new solution features interactive dashboards and a natural language search bar powered by generative BI, allowing users to ask plain-language questions about fleet utilization and billing exceptions. An automated cross-cloud pipeline ingests data from Azure SQL databases into AWS, ensuring datasets are regularly refreshed via Amazon Quick Sight SPICE. To support its multi-tenant SaaS model, Datacor implemented row-level security that automatically scopes data access to individual customers without manual configuration. Since its November 2025 release, the feature has been adopted by over 50 organizations, significantly reducing the time required to gain insights from days to minutes. This shift has enabled business users to identify revenue leakage opportunities and make proactive pricing adjustments independently. Datacor plans to expand this architecture to other modules, including customer overview and inventory insights, leveraging the same scalable foundation.
