Trane Technologies has successfully reduced the time required to obtain building operational insights by 60 times, cutting diagnostic workflows from 20 minutes to just 20 seconds. By leveraging Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and the Strands framework, the company developed an AI-powered agentic solution that processes natural language queries into actionable data. This system integrates real-time telemetry from millions of HVAC assets via Trane Cloud, allowing users to bypass complex dashboard navigation. The architecture employs a multi-agent design with specialized assistants for resources, knowledge, analytics, expert advice, and navigation. Key technical components include AgentCore runtime for session isolation, Gateway for tool orchestration, and built-in memory for context management. To ensure security and reliability, the team implemented role-based access controls, PII filters, and comprehensive observability through CloudWatch traces. The solution was rapidly prototyped in three to four weeks and validated internally before external release, demonstrating significant efficiency gains.
