Husqvarna Gets FCC Conditional Approval for Advanced Robotic Lawn Mowers in the US

Husqvarna Group has secured conditional approval from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission for four advanced robotic lawn mower platforms intended for the American market. The approved models, including the Automower 305V iQ, 310V iQ, 420V iQ, and 440V iQ, are manufactured abroad but are exempt from the FCC’s Covered List due to this specific regulatory status. This development marks a significant milestone as Husqvarna becomes the first robotics company to receive such conditional approval following recent updates to federal communications regulations. The new robotic mowers are scheduled to launch in the United States in 2027, expanding the company's presence in a region that accounted for 24% of its net sales in 2025. CEO Glen Instone emphasized that this approval validates the company’s rigorous standards for quality, security, and customer data management aligned with strict EU privacy rules. Currently, Husqvarna already provides professional robotic mowing solutions to more than 500 golf courses in the U.S., establishing a strong commercial foundation. The company identifies the residential sector as having significant growth potential, noting that current penetration levels remain relatively low compared to international markets. This regulatory breakthrough facilitates broader entry into the U.S. consumer market while maintaining compliance with national security and telecommunications standards.
