Ideogram says its new model can edit part of an image without messing up the rest

Ideogram has introduced its new model, Ideogram 4.5, which addresses a common challenge in AI image editing by allowing users to modify specific parts of an image without altering the rest. The company claims that this model only changes the targeted elements, ensuring that body shapes and backgrounds remain intact during edits like outfit swaps. This capability is particularly useful for applications such as product photography, interior design, photo restoration, and in-image text editing. Early testers have reported strong consistency across multiple edits, noting fewer artifacts compared to leading models like GPT-Image 2.5 and Nano Banana. The model is available immediately on the Ideogram platform and via API, offering four quality tiers with costs ranging from 0.8 to 22 cents per image at native 2K resolution. Key partners including Picsart, Runway, Pika, and Leonardo AI are already utilizing the technology. Additionally, Ideogram announced that an open-weight release of the model is coming soon.
