India’s Ringg gets backing from Peak XV as it pushes voice AI past the phone call
techcrunch ·
Indian voice AI startup Ringg has raised $10 million from Peak XV Partners as an extension of its Series A, bringing the round’s total to $15.5 million. The company processes about 20 million call attempts each month and began by serving high-volume use cases such as outbound calling, lead qualification, and loan collections. Ringg is now focusing more on complex workflows, including healthcare appointment booking, e-commerce cart recovery, and fintech onboarding and KYC checks. Its voice agents operate across 1,200 Practo clinics, while the company is also expanding into chat, WhatsApp, and browser-based support automation. Ringg says it wants to become a platform for agents that deliver outcomes rather than solely provide enterprise voice agents. Most customers are in India, and the startup plans to work with India-based Global Capability Centers to sell automation alongside human support. Ringg currently uses an orchestration layer connecting different models, while developing its own speech technologies and hiring engineers and researchers to improve deployment and reduce operating costs.
