Instinct founder said more than 50% of transactions on the platform are travel-related

Noah Shinn, founder of the AI agent platform Instinct, revealed that over 50% of transactions on the invite-only service are related to travel bookings. The company is currently approaching one billion dollars in annual transaction volume and is experiencing a daily growth rate of approximately 10%. Shinn argues that AI agents offer a superior user experience by unifying various hotel and airline services into a single interface for immediate checkout. Beyond travel, the startup aims to revolutionize restaurant reservations by using agents to monitor availability every five seconds and prioritize special occasions. This strategy intends to match diners seeking memorable events with restaurants looking to cater to significant life celebrations rather than just regular local patrons. However, critics note that users might exploit this system by falsely claiming special occasions to secure tables, potentially alienating consistent local customers. Instinct recently secured $1 billion in Series C funding at a $10 billion valuation from major investors including Sequoia Capital and Benchmark Capital.
