Introducing Kimi K3 on Amazon Bedrock
aws ·
AWS announces that Moonshot AI’s Kimi K3 is now available on Amazon Bedrock for coding and knowledge-work workloads. Moonshot AI describes it as its most capable model and the first open model to reach 2.8 trillion parameters; it combines native vision, a 1-million-token context window, and about 2.5 times greater scaling efficiency than Kimi K2. Kimi K3 is also the first open-weight model on Bedrock to support explicit prompt caching, which can lower latency and input-token costs when stable context is reused. AWS says requests stay within the AWS data boundary, are not shared with the model provider or used for training, and benefit from zero data retention and zero operator access. Users can access it through the Bedrock console or APIs, including OpenAI-compatible Responses and Chat Completions, via global and US geographic cross-Region inference profiles. The article also demonstrates integrations with OpenCode and Hermes Agent and points readers to AWS samples, documentation, and pricing information.
