Algomatic Dynamics, a Tokyo-based robotics startup, has raised $32.5 million from DMM.com in its first funding round. It began operations on Sept. 9 as part of an organizational change at Algomatic Co., a DMM Group company, and is led by CEO Yuki Nanri. The company plans to launch an AI-powered multi-fingered robotic hand platform in Japan by the end of 2026. It focuses on physical AI and is developing technology intended to work across different robots and environments rather than for a single machine or application. Its three main business areas are motion data and robot learning, AI robotic hands, and AI entertainment robots. Motion data work involves analyzing video of skilled workers’ hand and full-body movements to create training data, while its robotic hands combine hardware, tactile sensing, and an AI learning platform. The company is also developing bipedal stability controls for uneven surfaces, stairs, and slopes, and video-analysis systems to capture tacit worker knowledge such as timing, force, and gaze. It plans to use the funding for hardware and computing resources, and to pursue research, demonstrations, and collaborations for deploying the technology in industrial and everyday settings, including sectors facing labor shortages such as manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, nursing care, and food service.
