WIRED will hold the WIRED World Fair in Miami on November 4, reviving the tradition of World’s Fairs as a first look at what comes next. The one-day event aims to bring the technologies, people, and cultural forces reshaping the world off the page and into real life. It will take place at the Sacred Space in Miami’s Wynwood district and feature conversations with notable figures from biotechnology, politics, artificial intelligence, and other fields. Attendees can expect appearances by The Onion and a researcher devoted to decoding dolphin communication, as well as a screening of Alex Gibney’s Musk documentary and access to astronaut training software used for moon and Mars preparation. Robots will also be present. The announced lineup includes speakers such as Ben Collins, Clément Delangue, Denise Herzing, Ben Lamm, Mark Lanier, Alexis Ohanian, CJ Pearson, Kat Abughazaleh, and Evan Ratliff. Programming also includes immersive art installations, among them Marina Abramović’s Slow Walking, Refik Anadol’s Large Nature Model, NASA XOSS, and Unitree Robotics’ G1 humanoid robot, with more events to be announced closer to the date.
