Kapital to Acquire AI Coding Startup Woz in $30M Deal to Boost Financial AI Capabilities

Kapital, a prominent Latin American B2B financial institution, has agreed to acquire AI coding startup Woz in a $30 million cash-and-stock transaction. The acquisition aims to enhance Kapital's financial AI capabilities by integrating Woz’s advanced coding agents and patented token-reduction technology. Woz’s flagship product, WOZCODE, optimizes frontier models from Anthropic and OpenAI, reportedly saving customers over $2.5 million. Co-founders Ben Collins and Brad Eckert will join Kapital as Head of AI and Chief Technology Officer, respectively, alongside the full development team. Under their leadership, Kapital plans to expand its workforce in San Francisco and develop new enterprise financial applications. This move builds on Kapital’s existing OctavIA suite and follows a recent $125 million financing round secured in September. CEO René Saúl stated that leveraging Woz’s tools will push the boundaries of financial services using extensive internal datasets.
