Kazakhstan Expands Compute for Its AI Future
nvidia ·
Kazakhstan is transitioning its artificial intelligence ecosystem from planning to active deployment by significantly expanding its accelerated computing infrastructure. The national telecommunications provider, Kazakhtelecom, has already installed hundreds of NVIDIA H200 and B300 GPUs in major cities and plans to add over 1,000 additional units next year. Future deployments will include more than 1,000 NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs in the Ekibastuz region to support diverse enterprise and institutional workloads. Simultaneously, AI-native companies like inDrive and Pony.ai are collaborating to test robotaxi services in Astana using NVIDIA’s Hyperion platform. This growth in local compute capacity enables developers to train and fine-tune increasingly capable models while fostering innovation. The nation's strategy emphasizes connecting this hardware foundation with universities, startups, and industries to create practical applications. These developments highlight a comprehensive approach that scales both the infrastructure layer and the software applications built upon it.
