aiinsider ·
San Francisco startup Lightberry has introduced Lumi, a humanoid robot based on Unitree’s G1 platform and designed to interact with people. The company says Lumi can converse, entertain groups, tell stories, take photos, retrieve information, and guide users. Lumi combines the G1 hardware with Lightberry’s sensors, software, and operating system, while its SDK enables developers and businesses to customize its tools, personality, voice, knowledge, and movements. The robot features Nvidia Jetson Thor computing, 34 degrees of freedom, a 421 Wh battery, dual 1920 × 1200 cameras, and a beamforming microphone array. The first 100 Founder Edition units are scheduled to ship in 2026 for $39,990, requiring a refundable $200 deposit. The package includes one year of software access and support plus direct Slack support, and Lightberry plans to move hardware pricing into the $20,000 range afterward.
