Mach9 Secures $34M Series A to Bring Civil Engineering into the AI Era
aiinsider ·
Mach9, a San Francisco-based AI CAD software company specializing in civil engineering, has secured $34 million in Series A funding. The round was co-led by First Round Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Prudence and Quiet Capital, bringing the company's total funding to $49 million. Mach9’s platform converts LiDAR and 3D scan data into engineering drawings up to ten times faster and at one-fifth the cost of traditional methods. This technology addresses a critical bottleneck in infrastructure projects, where manual drafting often delays progress despite advances in scanning capabilities. The U.S. faces a growing need to rebuild aging infrastructure, compounded by a 24% decline in resident surveying licenses since 2011. Mach9 has already been utilized on over 2,500 projects across all 50 states by major firms such as WSP, HNTB, and Caltrans. Co-founders Alex Baikovitz and his team aim to expand the capacity for building and maintaining critical national systems using this AI-driven solution.
