Making Amazon Quick enterprise-ready: Automated, auditable cross-account resource promotion
aws ·
This article introduces the Amazon Quick Resource Migrator, a solution designed to automate the promotion of agentic AI resources from development to production AWS accounts. Previously, moving chat agents, action connectors, knowledge bases, flows, and spaces between accounts was a manual, error-prone process that lacked proper audit trails. The new tool operates as an idempotent Model Context Protocol (MCP) server hosted on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, allowing teams to execute cross-account migrations via a single API call. It ensures permission fidelity by reading source configurations and replaying them in the target account while remapping resource identifiers. The system includes safety features such as versioned backups stored in Amazon S3 before any updates, enabling full rollback capabilities if needed. Users can perform read-only previews to validate changes before committing them, supporting strict governance and change management requirements. Additionally, the migrator can be integrated into Amazon Quick as an action connector, providing a user-friendly interface for natural language-driven promotions and history tracking. This approach transforms enterprise-grade resource management into a fast, repeatable, and auditable workflow.
