Manage end-user OAuth consent for AI agents with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore
aws ·
Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Identity has introduced a Consent portal to simplify the management of end-user OAuth consent for AI agents. This new feature provides a managed web experience that handles session binding, eliminating the need for customers to build and host their own infrastructure for three-legged OAuth flows. The portal allows users to authenticate via their corporate identity provider and explicitly approve access to specific services like GitHub or Slack on a per-provider basis. By storing resulting tokens in the AgentCore Identity token vault, the system ensures that subsequent tool calls can utilize already-granted permissions without repeated prompts. This capability is particularly beneficial for developers using IDEs and Model Context Protocol clients, as it streamlines the connection process before invoking tools. Administrators configure the portal by setting up identity providers, gateway targets, and execution roles within the AWS Management Console. Once active, users receive a unique URL to sign in, review available connections, and grant independent consent for each integrated service. The entire workflow, including authentication and authorization events, can be monitored through AWS CloudTrail for security and compliance purposes.
