Manus seeks $4B valuation in new $500M fundraise as it resumes independent ops
techcrunch ·
Chinese AI startup Manus is reportedly discussing a $500 million funding round at a $4 billion valuation after resuming independent operations following the collapse of its proposed acquisition by Meta. Potential investors include IDG Capital, Boyu Capital, Contemporary Amperex Technology, and existing backers Tencent, HSG, and ZhenFund. The company is also considering a restructuring ahead of a possible Hong Kong IPO. Manus relocated staff to Singapore in 2025 and had announced a $2 billion acquisition deal with Meta, but Beijing later blocked it over concerns involving export controls, foreign investment rules, and the loss of Chinese AI talent. Early investors and backers have reportedly helped Manus buy back shares at a valuation of about $2 billion. The company said its founding team will continue to lead it and offers AI agents, chatbots, coding tools, and other products for creating apps, websites, designs, presentations, and videos.
