Mercedes-Benz and NVIDIA have announced an expansion of their strategic partnership to jointly develop next-generation automated driving systems. This collaboration integrates Mercedes-Benz's automotive engineering expertise and MB.OS operating system with NVIDIA's Hyperion compute architecture and AI technologies. Key components of the joint effort include NVIDIA's Alpamayo Stack for full-stack driving software and the Halos safety system, which provides redundant guardrails. The partners aim to accelerate the creation of advanced driver assistance features, including point-to-point urban assistance and automated parking. A primary goal is to support the development of future SAE-Level 4 applications, such as robolimousines, while maintaining high safety standards. Beyond vehicle software, the companies are also leveraging NVIDIA technologies to enhance efficiency and quality within Mercedes-Benz's global production network through digital simulation and MO360. Executives from both firms emphasized that this expanded alliance reflects mutual trust and a shared commitment to bringing safe autonomous driving to everyday reality.
