Meta Expands AI Push With New Subscription Tiers and WhatsApp Business AI Agent Tools

Meta has launched a new subscription service called Meta One, which expands AI usage and premium features across its Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp platforms. This move builds on earlier subscription tiers that have already shown significant revenue growth, with Instagram and Facebook seeing daily revenues of $1.2 million and $528,000 respectively in early September. The new Core and Premium plans, priced at $7.99 and $19.99 monthly, provide access to advanced AI tools such as Muse Image, Muse Video, and Restyle editing. Additionally, Meta introduced separate tiers for businesses and creators, offering enhanced access to the Business Agent and marketing analytics. In a separate announcement, Meta enabled businesses to use external AI agents like Claude and ChatGPT to manage WhatsApp Business messaging through a new MCP server. This integration simplifies complex tasks such as account creation, API registration, and template management for enterprise users. Analysts from BNP Paribas and Truist project that these subscription strategies could generate between $13.5 billion and $20 billion in additional revenue by 2028 and 2030. These developments reflect Meta's broader strategy to monetize its Muse AI models following its strategic investment in Scale AI.
