Meta expands subscription push with new AI-focused plans
techcrunch ·
Meta has launched a new subscription service called Meta One, which integrates expanded AI capabilities with premium features across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. This move aims to monetize the company's Muse AI models following its significant investment in Scale AI and the recruitment of Alexandr Wang. The new offerings build upon existing paid tiers like Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus, which have already driven substantial revenue growth according to market intelligence firm Appfigures. For general users, Meta offers Core and Premium plans priced at $7.99 and $19.99 per month respectively, providing increased access to AI tools for image and video generation. Businesses and creators can select from four specialized tiers ranging from Essential to Max, each offering varying levels of management tools, analytics, and agent capacity. These plans include enhanced profile visibility, advanced scheduling, and automated follow invitations to support content creation and customer engagement. Financial analysts project that this subscription strategy could add billions to Meta’s revenue by the end of the decade as it seeks to recoup its heavy AI investments.
