Meta’s Muse AI App Sees Modest Early Downloads Compared to Past Launches and Rivals
aiinsider ·
Meta’s new AI agent application, Muse, has recorded approximately 83,000 downloads on iOS in the United States since its launch on Tuesday. Despite reaching number two on the App Store’s Top Charts, these figures represent a modest start compared to Meta’s previous major releases. For instance, Threads garnered 4.3 million U.S. downloads on its first day, while the earlier Meta AI app saw 108,000 initial downloads. Muse also trails the early adoption pace of ChatGPT, which achieved roughly 83,300 daily downloads during its exclusive U.S. debut. Performance on Android appears weaker, with the app ranking only 338th in Google Play’s Productivity category and lacking specific download data. The application competes directly in the agentic AI space against rivals such as Google’s Gemini Spark, Anthropic’s Claude Cowork, and Instinct. This market entry follows closely after Meta agreed to an $18 billion multistate settlement regarding social media-related consumer harms.
