Meta says Muse has over 10M users, with shopping a top activity
techcrunch ·
Meta announced during its third-quarter earnings call that its AI app, Muse, has surpassed 10 million users, a figure confirmed by Sensor Tower. CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted that approximately 25% of users engage with the app daily, significantly boosting retention rates. A key driver of this engagement is agentic shopping, where over a quarter of active users made purchases averaging more than $200. The platform utilizes Plaid’s connector to facilitate these transactions, marking an unprecedented level of financial activity for the service. Beyond commerce, users are employing Muse for personal productivity tasks like managing emails and calendars, indicating strong trust in its security features such as the Secure VM. Meta plans to monetize the app by taking a percentage of commerce revenue while keeping it free for most users, with premium tiers available for advanced models. Zuckerberg forecasts that Muse will eventually generate higher revenue per user than Meta's existing family of apps and aims to improve compute efficiency by tenfold within a year to achieve profitability.
