Microsoft just shared Azure’s actual revenue in dollars: $33.2 billion

Microsoft has revealed Azure's specific quarterly revenue for the first time, reporting $33.2 billion for the July–September period, which represents a 48% increase from the previous year. This disclosure allows for a direct financial comparison with competitors Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud, whose parent companies already publish dollar-based figures. In the same quarter, Alphabet reported Google Cloud revenue of $30.7 billion, placing Azure slightly ahead in total earnings despite Google Cloud growing at a faster rate. Azure now accounts for approximately 36% of Microsoft’s total quarterly revenue of $92.3 billion, making it the company's largest and fastest-growing product line. The actual figure exceeded analyst expectations by about $850 million and surpassed the growth forecast provided by CFO Amy Hood earlier in the year. Microsoft recently reorganized its reporting structure into two new segments, grouping Azure with Microsoft 365 under the 'Agents and Infra' category, which generated $76.8 billion in combined revenue. With Amazon scheduled to release its earnings next, the industry is closely watching how these major cloud providers stack up against each other in the competitive AI and infrastructure market.
