Microsoft has reported a record quarterly revenue of $92.3 billion, representing a 19% year-over-year increase and marking its tenth consecutive quarter of record-breaking performance. Net income surged by 32% on a GAAP basis to $36.6 billion, primarily driven by the Microsoft Cloud segment which generated $63.9 billion in revenue. For the first time, the company disclosed specific dollar figures for Azure, reporting $33.2 billion in revenue for the July to September period, a significant 48% increase from the previous year. This growth exceeded analyst expectations and outpaced internal forecasts, solidifying Azure as Microsoft's largest product line at roughly 36% of total revenue. AI demand remains a key driver, with $10 billion in revenue attributed to OpenAI services and a 73% rise in commercial remaining performance obligations to $677 billion. To support this expansion, Microsoft reorganized its reporting into two segments and increased capital expenditures to an all-time high of over $45.2 billion. Despite strong cloud performance, Devices and Consumer revenue declined by 3%, while Agents and Infra grew by 25%. The results highlight Microsoft's dominant position in the cloud market, slightly ahead of Alphabet's Google Cloud in reported figures.
