Norbert Health Raises $14M in Series A Funding to for Autonomous Robotic Nursing Assistants
aiinsider ·
Norbert Health, a Brooklyn-based startup, announced $14 million in Series A funding to expand its physical AI platform that gives mobile robots clinical capabilities for use as autonomous nursing assistants. The round included support from William A. Marino with Cardinal Group, with participation from Exor Seeds, CareIT, and angel investors from companies like Datadog, Noom, and Owkin. The new capital will be used to expand clinical capabilities, advance regulatory clearances, and increase deployments in skilled nursing facilities and other care settings. Norbert's platform runs on partner robotic hardware, allowing robots to make rounds, capture patient vital signs without contact, conduct assessments, respond to patient requests, and document encounters in electronic health records. The company's systems have been operating in skilled nursing facilities since August 2025, serving hundreds of patients daily with high patient acceptance and monitoring compliance rates. Norbert also reports its robots help identify acute events earlier and support reimbursable care programs. The CEO highlighted that the technology aims to reduce the burden of the nursing shortage by providing robots with real clinical skills rather than just logistical functions.
