Nscale, Figure Sign $3.5B Humanoid Robot Compute Deal
aiinsider ·
Nscale and humanoid robotics company Figure have announced a multi-year partnership that could deploy up to 100,000 Nvidia GPUs, with an initial $3.5 billion compute commitment to support Figure's next generation of humanoid robots. The deal, which the companies say could grow beyond $6 billion, will begin deploying Nvidia Vera Rubin GPUs in Barstow, Texas, in the second half of 2027. Under the agreement, Nscale will become Figure's preferred compute provider and a shareholder, while also making a strategic investment of undisclosed size in the company. Nscale will supply the power, computing platform, and orchestration layer while integrating Nvidia AI infrastructure to support Figure's models from training through deployment. The companies also plan to explore using humanoid robots to help scale Nscale's supply chain. Figure CEO Brett Adcock noted that advancing humanoid robots for widespread use depends on more data and compute, which this agreement aims to provide. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang described the partnership as activating a 'physical AI flywheel' that links training on Nvidia Vera Rubin, validation in Nvidia Isaac Sim, and deployment on Nvidia GPUs in Figure's robots.
