NVIDIA has announced a $1 billion commitment to advance U.S. science over the next five years, focusing on super intelligence research and development. The announcement was made at a Washington, D.C. event titled 'Science: A New Golden Age,' which convened government officials and industry leaders. Key areas of investment include quantum computing, healthcare, and energy security, aiming to strengthen American leadership in these critical fields. CEO Jensen Huang linked this initiative to President Trump’s Genesis Mission, emphasizing the goal of turning scientific leadership into industrial growth and job creation. NVIDIA plans to support higher-education institutions, accelerate quantum leadership, and assist cloud service providers in meeting government mission needs. This investment builds on two decades of collaboration with national labs, including recent partnerships with the Department of Energy for supercomputing projects at Argonne and Los Alamos National Laboratories. Through phase 2 Genesis Mission awards, NVIDIA is also collaborating on projects involving fusion, accelerator design, and microelectronics.
