NVIDIA Expands Advanced Technology Access for Europe’s Scientific Community Through Open Learning Resources, Collaborations and Compute
nvidia ·
NVIDIA has expanded its support for Europe’s scientific community through the European Commission’s AI in Science Enablers Initiative, announced at the AI in Science Summit in Dublin. The company is providing open access to over 250 models, datasets, and software projects, alongside specialized tools like Nemotron and BioNeMo for research in biology, climate, and materials science. To address skill gaps, NVIDIA launched an open-source courseware hub via the Deep Learning Institute, offering freely downloadable training on accelerated computing and deep learning. Compute accessibility is being enhanced through collaborations with national AI factories in France, Spain, and Sweden, as well as EuroHPC centers like CINECA and JSC, which offer free GPU infrastructure to researchers and startups. These efforts aim to lower barriers for early-career scientists and SMEs by combining technical resources with hands-on bootcamps and hackathons. Additionally, NVIDIA is supporting a historic expansion of AI infrastructure, with 35 new supercomputers currently under development across the continent. This buildout is expected to equip over three million researchers with next-generation capabilities to accelerate discoveries in fields ranging from drug development to climate modeling.
