NVIDIA Expands AI Infrastructure Capacity in Partnership With Australia’s Data Center Ecosystem
nvidia ·
NVIDIA announced it is collaborating with Australian NVIDIA Cloud Partners and AI infrastructure partners—Firmus, Sharon AI, IREN, Megaport, ResetData, CDC, NEXTDC and AirTrunk—to expand land, power and shell capacity for multiple generations of NVIDIA DSX AI factories. The partners will operate the AI factories, while NVIDIA supplies the DSX platform, accelerated computing, networking, software and ecosystem support. The buildout is planned to reach up to 2 gigawatts by 2027 to meet growing demand from AI labs and AI-native startups. NVIDIA describes DSX as a full-stack AI factory platform compatible with the CUDA ecosystem and improved through software over the infrastructure's life. The expanded capacity is intended to give Australian startups, universities, researchers, enterprises, developers and AI-native companies greater access to accelerated computing and NVIDIA Nemotron open models. Organizations including Heidi and Atlassian are using Nemotron models, datasets and tools to build and customize AI for language, reasoning, speech and multimodal applications. Partner efforts include Firmus's Project Southgate, Sharon AI's deployment of up to 68,000 NVIDIA GPUs, IREN's 800-megawatt Bundey campus in South Australia, and AI-ready infrastructure from Megaport, ResetData, CDC, NEXTDC and AirTrunk.
