NVIDIA, Microsoft Kick Off a New Beginning for Windows PCs with RTX Spark and AI Agents
nvidia ·
NVIDIA and Microsoft have jointly announced a new era for Windows PCs centered on local AI agents, unveiled at an event in San Francisco featuring CEO Jensen Huang and Satya Nadella. The companies are co-engineering hardware and software to run AI agents securely on the desktop, highlighted by the introduction of RTX Spark laptops and compact desktops with preorders opening immediately. RTX Spark devices feature up to 128GB of unified memory and one petaflop of AI performance, enabling users to run large models like Qwen 3.8 Flash Next locally without cloud dependency. Additionally, NVIDIA previewed the DGX Station for Windows, a deskside supercomputer that brings GB300 Grace Blackwell-class infrastructure directly into the Windows ecosystem for enterprise use. This integration allows developers to execute frontier-class models and multi-agent workloads natively on Windows, eliminating the previous need to switch to Linux for heavy AI tasks. Microsoft also introduced Microsoft Execution Containers (MXC) as OS-level infrastructure to ensure agents can run safely, persistently, and under operating system control. These announcements mark a significant shift toward making the personal computer a secure and powerful platform for agentic AI applications.
