NVIDIA, Nokia and Leading Telecom Operators Turn Networks Into Distributed Intelligence Platforms
nvidia ·
NVIDIA, Nokia, and major telecom operators are transforming global networks into distributed intelligence platforms by integrating accelerated computing into centralized data centers, metro sites, and cell towers. T-Mobile recently completed the world's first AI-RAN call on a commercial network in Bellevue, Washington, marking a significant milestone in this technological shift. Other leading operators, including BT, Deutsche Telekom, Elisa, and Orange, are advancing AI-RAN pilots and field trials using Nokia’s CUDA-accelerated anyRAN software on NVIDIA Aerial RAN Computer hardware. Nine telecommunications providers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa are currently building or expanding this NVIDIA-powered infrastructure to deliver services closer to end-users. The initiative leverages NVIDIA Nemotron open models and agent toolkits to enable autonomous network operations and specialized agentic services for enterprises. Additionally, NVIDIA introduced new high-capacity Aerial RAN Computer configurations designed for dense radio workloads at centralized sites. This convergence of land, power, spectrum, and AI allows operators to extend intelligent capabilities directly into the radio access network.
