Nvidia is reportedly negotiating an investment of as much as $10 billion in Anthropic’s planned initial public offering, according to Reuters. Anthropic aims to raise up to $100 billion and reach a valuation of roughly $2 trillion, which would make the offering the largest IPO ever. Nvidia would participate as an anchor investor, securing shares before they trade publicly. The two firms already have close ties: Anthropic uses Nvidia GPUs and in 2025 committed to purchasing $30 billion of Azure compute containing Nvidia chips. Anthropic’s revenue rose from about $9 billion at the end of 2025 to more than $65 billion by July 2026. The IPO is expected to conclude before the U.S. midterm elections in November. Nvidia continues to function like a central bank for the AI sector, investing in customers such as Anthropic and OpenAI and backing about $300 billion in guarantees that help data centers obtain financing, with much of that money returning to Nvidia through chip orders.
