OliverAI Raises Pre-Seed Funding to Scale Agentic AI Database Platform
aiinsider ·
OliverAI announced it has raised pre-seed funding from Menlo Ventures and Unusual Ventures to scale OliverDB, an analytical data platform built specifically for agentic AI systems. The company argues that traditional enterprise analytics infrastructure struggles with the continuous, machine-speed workloads created by AI agents, leading to performance bottlenecks and rising compute costs. OliverDB was built by co-founders Praneet Sharma, Grace Johnson, and Toby O’Brien to address this gap. The company reports that in ClickBench tests, Oliver ran hundreds of times faster than ClickHouse on CPUs and thousands of times faster with GPU execution, enabling multi-petabyte environments to run on only a few servers or a single GPU. Investors compare the platform to Snowflake and Databricks, positioning it as an analogous foundation for agentic AI. OliverDB also provides observability and governance across databases and MCP servers, allowing enterprises to set policies and track agent actions. Its “model swarm” approach runs multiple specialized models in parallel, reserving frontier models for tasks that require them. OliverDB is available now as a managed service or within customer VPCs.
