Proactive cyber defense for governments and enterprises

Google has launched the Fairwind Program, a limited-access initiative providing governments and trusted partners with advanced AI-powered cyber defense tools. The program combines its Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber model with a CodeMender harness to autonomously identify, verify, and patch software vulnerabilities, reducing remediation time from weeks to minutes. Initial access is staged for national cyber authorities, critical infrastructure operators, and core technology platforms to harden defenses before adversaries can exploit weaknesses. Participating organizations must adhere to strict operational standards, such as restricting access to internal security teams and using multi-factor authentication. More than 650 partners globally are already involved in the program. Separately, Google.org has committed over $100 million to cybersecurity funding, including $36 million supporting 35 cyber clinics that have aided over 1,250 U.S. hospitals, school districts, and municipal utilities.
