Radar makes podcasts searchable — and usable by AI agents
techcrunch ·
Particle, an AI newsreader startup founded by former Twitter engineers, has launched Radar, a podcast search engine that transcribes and understands audio to surface key quotes and highlights. The product has attracted interest from hedge funds, AI search platforms, and data resellers, with hedge funds among the highest-volume API customers. Radar grew out of a popular feature in Particle's news-reading app that sourced podcast clips for its feed, prompting the company to pivot toward building an API for podcast intelligence. The service transcribes more than 130,000 podcasts, including Apple's Top 200 across 135 verticals, adding 20,000 episodes daily. It includes speaker labels, entity tracking, customizable alerts, extracted clips with timestamps, ad tracking, and other analytics. Radar is available via a web interface, an API, and an MCP, with pricing starting at $29 per month per seat and custom pricing for API users. The company plans to expand beyond podcasts to other audio forms like YouTube videos and news clips in the future.
