RayNeo's new AI glasses skip the camera, focus on text overlays

RayNeo has introduced a new pair of AI glasses called the RayNeo iO, which notably omits both a camera and a built-in speaker. Instead, the glasses project text overlays into the wearer's view using a green waveguide display with 97 percent transparency and roughly 1,300 nits of brightness. They are designed to listen to conversations, summarize them, extract action items, and suggest calendar entries that users can approve by nodding their head. Additional features include a teleprompter mode and speech-to-text translation supporting 40 languages. Four microphones and a bone conduction sensor help capture voices in noisy environments, with an LED indicator showing when the microphone is active. Out of the box, the glasses run RayNeo AI and Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, while a $9.99 monthly subscription unlocks access to models like ChatGPT 5.1, Gemini 2.5 Pro, Claude, and DeepSeek. The article notes that all the listed AI models are already outdated.
