Reframe Systems Raises $40M in Funding for Physical AI-driven Homebuilding Microfactories
aiinsider ·
Reframe Systems, a Massachusetts-based homebuilding startup founded by former Amazon Robotics veterans, has raised an additional $40 million in venture equity funding. Energy Impact Partners led the round, with participation from Counterpart Ventures, E12 Ventures, Global Brain, Thin Line Capital, Up Partners, LACI Impact Fund, and several existing investors. The company uses a physical AI approach that combines software, robotics, and smaller automated microfactories to address the U.S. housing shortage. It claims its system can build homes three times faster and at 35% lower cost than traditional construction. The new funding will support home deliveries in New England and expand its microfactory network across North America, including a new Billerica, Massachusetts facility that can produce up to 500 multifamily units or 250 single-family homes annually. Reframe has completed ten homes so far, with eight occupied, and expects to deliver 114 more units in the coming year while targeting one million homes by 2040.
