Runable hits $21M to bet AI agents can go from building businesses to growing them
techcrunch ·
Indian startup Runable has raised $21 million in Series A funding co-led by Susquehanna Venture Capital and Nexus Venture Partners, at a $65 million post-investment valuation. Founded in 2025 and based in Bengaluru, the company initially worked on AI infrastructure before pivoting to a general-purpose AI agent for small businesses. Runable's agent helps users build websites and apps, and aims to expand into business growth by running ad campaigns, managing social media, and improving SEO presence. The startup claims it reached a $2 million annualized revenue run rate within three weeks of launching payments in March, and has about 1.7 million registered users. However, Runable currently has negative gross margins because it subsidizes AI usage, though it expects falling inference costs to improve its economics. In a TechCrunch test, the agent could build a site and prepare an ad campaign but required users to connect external advertising accounts before running ads. The company sees general-purpose agents like Manus and Genspark as its main competitors, and differentiates itself by focusing on helping businesses acquire customers rather than just building software.
