Scaling cloud migrations with agentic AI on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore
aws ·
AWS Professional Services describes a multi-agent framework on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore that accelerates enterprise cloud migrations, claiming to cut infrastructure-as-code development time from three to four weeks per application to minutes across a portfolio of over 300 applications. The framework addresses three bottlenecks: manual intake overhead, redundant infrastructure development, and reactive post-migration operations. It includes four agents: an Intake Agent for automated discovery, an IaC Agent for code generation aligned with security standards, a Migration Intelligence and Governance Agent for portfolio reporting and assessments, and an SRE Agent for proactive operations. The agents are built with the Strands Agents SDK, run on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, and use MCP tool calls through AgentCore Gateway, with authentication via AgentCore Identity and policy enforcement via Policy in AgentCore. The IaC Agent follows a five-step workflow from ingesting steering documents to executing and reporting, while shared context stored in AgentCore memory enables automated handoffs between agents. Security controls include scoped IAM roles, input validation, centralized credential resolution, immutable audit trails, and guardrails on foundation model calls.
