Sequoia Leads $30M Round for Cymphony to Secure Enterprise AI Agents
aiinsider ·
Cymphony, a startup based in New York and Tel Aviv, has raised $30 million to help enterprises manage security risks posed by AI agents operating alongside human employees. The funding includes a $25 million Series A co-led by Sequoia Capital and SMBC Fin Atlas Beyond Fund, valuing the company at over $100 million, following an earlier seed round from Sequoia. Founded by CEO Shy Dekel with co-founders Idan Berkovits and Edi Gotlieb, Cymphony built a "workforce graph" that gives security teams visibility into employees, AI agents, and other non-human identities across corporate systems. The company notes that AI agents increasingly act as independent entities but lack the identity and access controls designed for human staff, creating security gaps. It said it discovered about 85,000 files exposed to AI tools at one client and identified an incident involving an unauthorized AI deployment scanning sensitive files. Sequoia partner Bogomil Balkansky said the investment reflects Cymphony's enterprise traction, including customers such as KKR and Syngenta, and its approach of treating identity and data security as a unified problem. Cymphony competes with larger security platforms including Microsoft, Okta, and Wiz as concerns grow over AI agents' expanding access to corporate systems.
