Aitan, an American-Israeli startup, has emerged from stealth with $41 million in new financing, bringing its total funding to $54 million. The round was co-led by Deep33 and Dell Technologies Capital. Aitan develops AI-powered robotic defense systems, combining edge AI, autonomy, command-and-control software, and robotics for ground combat. The company says its technology has accumulated more than 500,000 combat hours with the Israel Defense Forces and Israeli national security agencies since 2023. Aitan recently secured a contract to develop the command-and-control platform for the IDF's next-generation attack-drone fleet. It is pursuing a model called Robotic Sovereignty-as-a-Service, which helps allied governments build and operate coordinated robotic defense systems. The company was founded by Udi Oster and Daniel Almog, former IDF Unit 8200 officers, and is named after Oster's brother, who was killed in combat in Lebanon.
