Sparks Fly: NVIDIA Accelerates Local AI at IFA 2026
nvidia ·
At IFA 2026, NVIDIA, Microsoft, and partners announced new tools and optimizations to make local AI agents easier to set up and run on NVIDIA hardware. New compact NVIDIA RTX Spark Windows PCs from Lenovo and Acer are scheduled to arrive in October, targeting creators, gamers, and AI agents. Simplified local model setup is coming to Hermes Agent, OpenClaw, and Perplexity Portable Computer on Windows and Linux. NVIDIA also unveiled faster local inference, with llama.cpp delivering up to 1.9x higher throughput on GeForce RTX 5090 and vLLM gains on RTX PRO workstations and DGX clusters. The free, open-source NVIDIA PAIR tool intelligently distributes inference requests across multiple PCs on a local network to boost available compute. Additionally, August saw several new local AI models, including Nemotron 3.5 Lightning, Z.ai's GLM-5.3-Flash, Qwen3.8-Flash-Next, LTX 2.5, MiniMax-H3, and Meta's Muse Glimmer. Game publishers Electronic Arts, Embark, and Ubisoft were also announced as bringing titles to RTX Spark.
