aiinsider ·
Supabase has announced a new $150 million funding round led by GIC, with participation from CapitalG, IronArc, and SquarePeg. This investment follows closely on the heels of a $500 million Series F completed just four months prior. The company is also acquiring Turso, a platform known for its low-cost architecture that supports on-demand per-agent databases. Supabase reports rapid growth, adding over one million users and four million databases monthly, with 70% of new databases created by AI agents or tools. CEO Paul Copplestone highlighted that AI coding tools are expanding software development capabilities to a broader audience. The acquisition aims to accelerate product development around agent-driven databases and provide liquidity for employees. Turso founders Glauber Costa and Pekka Enberg will join Supabase, while the Turso platform continues to operate independently.
