GPT-6 Astra from OpenAI is now generally available on Amazon Bedrock, bringing enhanced reasoning and judgment to complex production workflows. It can handle demanding tasks like reconciling conflicting financial data, reviewing contracts using a context window of up to 1 million input tokens, investigating codebase issues, and performing browser-based actions when APIs are unavailable. The model supports prompt caching to reduce repeated processing, cost, and latency. It is the first OpenAI model to receive a Critical classification for cybersecurity capability, with safeguards that monitor misuse and complement AWS security controls such as encryption, zero-operator access, IAM governance, and CloudTrail logging. Inference data is not used for training, and default retention options are available. GPT-6 Astra can be integrated via Amazon Bedrock APIs, and is also accessible through ChatGPT Work—with new enterprise plugins for business tools—and through the Codex software engineering agent, both of which can be configured to run on Amazon Bedrock. Customers can start using the model through the Amazon Bedrock console or programmatically in supported AWS Regions.
