Therna Unveils AI Platform to Study RNA and Design Candidate Medicines
aiinsider ·
Therna Biosciences has introduced RNA-Logix, an artificial intelligence platform designed to investigate RNA biology and design candidate medicines. The system integrates Therna’s proprietary experimental data with AI models to evaluate therapeutic hypotheses and identify novel molecular mechanisms. A key component of the platform is BioReason-RNA, developed in collaboration with NVIDIA, which provides step-by-step causal explanations for how RNA sequences function within cells. This reasoning model allows scientists to verify predictions against a large data lake containing tens of millions of measurements across various cellular contexts. By leveraging reinforcement learning, the platform engages in recursive self-improvement, refining its core reasoning models based on verification outcomes. RNA-Logix supports the development of mRNA, antisense oligonucleotides, and small interfering RNA therapies by bridging the gap between sequence prediction and biological mechanism. Therna plans to offer hosted access to BioReason-RNA for research and industry partners through selected platforms. The initiative highlights a significant application of recursive AI in understanding complex biological questions related to disease treatment.
