Toronto World Model Startup Veeda AI Launches with $90M in Seed Funding
aiinsider ·
Veeda AI, a Toronto-based startup, has launched with more than $90 million in seed funding. The company was founded by former Nvidia AI researchers Sanja Fidler, Zan Gojcic, and Huan Ling, and is backed by Radical Ventures and Khosla Ventures. Veeda builds world models that create simulated environments where robots can learn through trial and error. CEO Sanja Fidler stated that real-world training for robots is unsafe, expensive, and time-consuming, making simulated reality necessary for scaling interactive learning. The startup aims to provide a foundational infrastructure layer for physical AI and robotics by offering virtual training grounds. Its mission is to build simulated reality for physical AI, allowing robots to practice tasks and adapt without physical risk or costly equipment.
