Trump launches "Super Intelligence Force" that has nothing to do with actual superintelligence

President Donald Trump has announced the formation of a new entity called the "Super Intelligence Force" (SIF). This initiative aims to coordinate outreach with various sectors, including consumers, religious groups, and AI companies. The unit will be led by several high-ranking officials, such as Intelligence Director Jay Clayton and FTC Chair Andrew Ferguson. Notably, Trump uses the term "superintelligence" to refer to current artificial intelligence technology. This differs significantly from the academic definition of ASI, which describes hypothetical systems surpassing human intellect. The launch follows a recent White House meeting where tech CEOs signed a voluntary agreement for third-party AI auditing. The SIF reports directly to the President and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
