Vantora, Formerly UP.Labs, Raises $100M to Build Proprietary Physical AI Startups for Corporate Partners
aiinsider ·
Vantora, formerly known as UP.Labs, has secured a $100 million investment from Silversmith Capital Partners in its first outside funding round. Alongside this financial milestone, the company has rebranded and shifted its business model to focus on building proprietary Physical AI startups for corporate partners. This new approach allows clients like Porsche, Alaska Airlines, and J.B. Hunt to integrate ventures directly into their core operations rather than launching them into the broader market. Founder and CEO John Kuolt explained that this proprietary structure enables the development of strategically sensitive automation systems that partners previously deemed too risky for external distribution. The company, which began with Porsche as its initial partner in 2022, continues to expand into sectors such as industrial manufacturing and oil and gas. Although Vantora shares office space with venture firm Up.Partners, it remains a financially independent entity. This strategic pivot aims to address specific corporate needs for full ownership of intelligent physical systems.
