Viral AI assistant Instinct now has its own email address
techcrunch ·
Instinct, an AI assistant startup now valued at $2.5 billion, is introducing personal email addresses for its users, allowing the AI agent to create and manage its own accounts without cluttering user inboxes. Founder Noah Shinn announced the feature as a way for Instinct to handle tasks that require email, such as contacting businesses, signing up for services, or following up on requests. Users can also forward emails to Instinct, like order confirmations, so it can manage tasks such as product returns autonomously, checking back only when user input is needed. The feature follows recent partnerships with 1Password for logins, location-sharing capabilities, and a Stripe integration for payments. While the obscurity may complicate customer relationships for businesses, users may appreciate avoiding sharing their personal email for simple tasks. Instinct has reserved addresses for early users, with others able to claim theirs at mail.instinct.com, and the email can also be added to group threads for tracking information.
